Hey there ..
thx for the invite ;)
I have recently been interested in the Alkaline Diet..meaning that I try to buy and eat Alkaline foods 80% vrs Acid foods 20%.
Using some Healthy eating books I noticed there are charts out there that do list what foods are assimilated Alkaline (some depending how it is prepared). For example Tomato raw is Alkaline, cooked Tomato turns to Acid.
My prob is that I cant seem to get enouph information, just little bits n peices.
Are there any Books out there with Solid Extensive lists of Alkaline Foods, charts and such??
Thx.

Yes there are books that you can find out Solid Extensive lists of Alkaline Foods, charts etc. Dr Young's cook-book, "Back to the house of health" as well as "The pH Miracle", also by Dr Young. BOTH are available at Amazon.com
I will post a chart detailing the position of various foods along the pH scale later on.

Tue, August 17, 2004 - 10:48 PMAnnie and David Jubb did some great research on this..i suggest anything by these two...
Here's some notes from their book colloidal biology and secrets of an alkaline body:
alkaline forming elements:
potassium (K)
sodium (Na)
calcium (Ca)
magnesium (Mg)
iron (Fe)
Acid forming elements:
sulfur (S)
phosphorus (P)
chlorine (Ch)
iodine (I)
flax seed, super blue green algae, coconut oil are some of the foods they mention, although their theories and experimentations in their New York lab is absolutely amazing....

Re: Chart
Tue, September 19, 2006 - 1:53 PMCheck out Dr. Robert Young's book "The pH Miracle and Weigh Loss." It not only lists foods by groups and tells which are acidic and which are alkaline, but it talks about certain negative aspects of acidic foods.
